Day 3. Fettlin’ Bob.

I am lucky to be a lady of several bikes. I have a work bike, a cyclocross bike, a road bike, a 531 classic and half a tandem.

However what makes me really lucky is having Mr. Dukes. Without his ability to fettle and fix I would not enjoy riding anything like as much as I do.

Today he fettled Old Bob. This is the one bike with a name.  It’s a Marin Bobcat I bought in 1997. After falling out of love with this bike and giving it to the mother in law, I reclaimed it 3 years ago as an indestructible off road commuter.

Today Bob got some new parts.  Front derailleur, front gear shifter, rear gear shifter, bar grips, brake cables, gear cables, cable outers, front brake blocks, rear brake blocks. All fitted free of charge, unless you count the curry and beer.

Thanks Pete, from me and Bob. Ximage
