I run like a flat-footed drunken octopus, it’s not very pretty and it’s definitely not effective, but seeing as cyclocross has more than its fair share of running, once a week I embarrass myself and scare the locals with a half hour stint.
Today I combined my plod with a ride over exactly the same route immediately afterwards, a mini ‘brick’ session. My run down the canal to Mytholmroyd was for once dry, with just a few hissing geese, and back via the wooded alternative to Route 66, 34 minutes in all.
Back home, a quick change of shoes plus the helmet and I was off to follow the same course on my ‘cross bike, taking a surprising 15 minutes, I really thought there’s be a much bigger difference between the run and the ride.
A short #30daysofbiking effort, but nevertheless, oddly fun. My legs do know about it though!
