I’ve often used the analogy of cycling being like music, there are so many different types of cycling that to say you ‘like’ cycling doesn’t really seem to cover it. Often we stay within the different disciplines within the sport, but sometimes something comes along which breaks down all the boundaries and we all just celebrate a love of self propelled travel.

As you’ll probably know the Tour de France is coming to the South Pennines this July. It’s travelling up Cragg Vale as part of its route. As a way of engaging everyone with cycling before the tour comes the Yorkshire Festival is happening with a cycling flavour. The Hebden Bridge Piano Festival begins shortly, now somewhere along the line the two things were merged and 18 cyclists towed a mini grand piano up Cragg Vale whilst a selection of some of the worlds greatest pianists played it……
