Best Laid Plans & all that…….
I set off to explore further afield in our fabulous South Pennines, so with bike on back of car, I set off to discover pastures new, and discover some new biking country. Alas within 5 miles I developed a spot of car trouble, so rather than risk it, I ended up heading back home! Pulled in to SOwerby Bridge, and decided I’d try & find a new ride near to home, one I’d never done before. And I did. And it was Marvellous.
BUT today was a very special day in the South Pennines Cycling Calendar – THE “FIRST DAY OF THE YEAR YOU CAN RIDE IN A T-SHIRT WITH BARE ARMS WITHOUT DYING OF HYPOTHERMIA” DAY. This usually happens earlier than this, but it was greeted with great joy.
Yes, it was warm. And sunny. And, well nice!
But it rained on the way back.
