Right near my house is a disused victorian railway line. It was cut into the hillside all those years ago, and now that the rails are gone, the ridge alongside is incredible to ride. It runs from Ripponden to Sowerby Bridge, and is just brilliant to thrash along – it gets a bit hairy in some places, especially with a 20 ft drop to one side.

The old iron & stone bridges still remain, which gives it an eerie quality. camera died before bridge pics, but will add next time.
